farewell, wikipedia

Wikipedia ,the free encyclopedia,has been blocked again today(11/01/2005).

Sadness.

Ten days ago, Wikipedia has been blocked.Yesterday,Tim Starling, the administrator send a mail to wikipedia maillist:

[Wikipedia-l] Temporary access for China
I just deployed an LVS load balancer in front of squid at the
Korean cluster, we're sending all Asian traffic through it. The
change in IP address means users in China will probably be able
to access the site for now, until the authorities block us again.

But after 12 hours ,china government has blocked wikipdeia again.

What a coincidence that bokee.com, a china corporation build a website "www.wikicn.com"(closed), they pirate all the entrys from wikipedia, and they said that they support by some department of china government.

Before several years , baidu.com (also a china corporation ,NASDAQ:BIDU) use a similitude method to beat google.com, their opponents.

My DELL D600 computer have got twice damaged hard disk drives in ONE month

10/07/2005, My DELL D600 notepad computer coughed, then I found the HDD damaged.Next day, dell send me a "new" HDD.

10/28/2005, The "new" HDD coughed too. Then, in a few minutes, it damaged.

It's really shocking, isn't it? I have got twice damaged HDD in ONE month.

Today, a "new" HDD has arrived.Now I am install OS(FreeBSD 5.4 Release) on D600, and I am writting this blog on another computer.

I am fears. I don't known how many days I can use this HDD, I think may it will damage in the near future. 1 month? 2 month?

I have read many article from famous chinese IT community donews.com about dell's product quality. Many people meeting the same things that I have meeted.

Does DELL is so terrible outside china?

I am Huoju a programmer,live in beijing.

Today , I start my english blog.

Last year, because of china network "bei'an" (if you want publish a website,you must register your private information to government, then if they dont't like what you wrote, your website will be closed, or paid the penalty) ,so I paid for a webhost service from www.deltawebhosting.com. But after several month , I think that's not enough, We must write in english, tell the world what's happend in china. I will share my happiness, disappontment,excitement and resentment.

Sorry for my poor english. I can read english smoothly, but can't write good english. I will try my best to improve my english, if you find some error,tell me pls.
