about this blog &about me

I am Huoju a programmer,live in beijing.

Today , I start my english blog.

Last year, because of china network "bei'an" (if you want publish a website, you must register your private information to government, then if they dont't like what you wrote, your website will be closed, or paid the penalty) ,so I paid for a webhost service from www.deltawebhosting.com. But after several month , I think that's not enough, We must write in english, tell the world what's happend in china. I will share my happiness, disappontment, excitement and resentment.

Sorry for my poor english. I can read english smoothly, but can't write good english. I will try my best to improve my english, if you find some error, tell me pls.

Your English does need substantial improvement, as least less syntax and punctuation errors. And, don't make it a habit to show off your anger toward your country or government and tell foreigners how ugly it is; 'cause people from overseas know better than you, thus save your energy from defacing it and try not to be cynic.

But, why do you think that I will tell others china's ugly? Why not the other side?

I have said, "happiness, disappontment, excitement and resentment"

Good english can't conceal the truth.

Hehe... Well, actually, I have read some of your Chinese blog articles and you seem to focus on the dark side more...

My point is, it is ok to say a bunch of things when you speak Chinese, 'cause few foreigners understand that. However, it's a different case when it comes to English. You gotta be careful. Instead of telling people how China is lagged behind, you can consider showing some progress China is making, economically, politically, etc.

Why? Because foreigners already consider China a BAD contry. From many articles in USA media, such as "Time", CNN.com, you name it, I can tell that those media are misleading, 'cause they always tell the dark side of China and gloat over it, while being blind to the bright side. Truth? Yeah, you can say what they say in those articles are true to some extent, but screened facts are never the truth at all. Anyway, in Western people's mind, China has been an evil, human-right-less, dirty, world-factory country for a long time. This is no big secret. This is no Da Vinci Code. They need nobody to teach them that, 'cause what they read keep telling them that and making them believe that is all about China. What's more, when they hear Chinese tell them all about this in person, the impression will be much more aggravated, which does not help the country at all. On the contrary, tell them some progress that China is making might help to beat those people's hypocrisy.

Just to draw an analogy, one could complain anything at home; but he is unlikely to expose the unpleasantness very often, 'cause that will demean the family and himself. This is kind of similar to saying something against the country to people from outside.

Alright, let me say I am not a government agent sent here to sabotage, 'cause when you say something like this, people are likely to think that way. Far from that. I did not try to hide any truth, just present another truth to you. I hope I did not make you feel confronted.

Happy blogging and take it easy.

Both Huoju and 临风 need to improve their English but that is not what I want to made a comment on. What I want to say is, from their writings respectively, Huoju shows the intelligent, beautiful and hopeful sides of the China; 临风 shows the oposites. That is my personal opinion. Haha..
